“Cyprès (26, full artistname Cyprès Ad Victoriam) is a singer-songwriter from Paris, who plays mostly own French repertoire. His songs have beautiful lyrics, Cyprès being also a poet, while his sound is swinging along with his guitar and mouth harmonica. One can recognize his Portugese roots quite easily in the melancholy of some melodies, as well as in the temperament of a lot of other songs. Cyprès is actually fascinated by all music cultures, he sings even a wonderful Algerian song, which he learned from natives and which he loves a lot. In France he likes most to play in arty café/theaters, like the famous artist neighbourhood of Menilmontant in Paris. But he also shined and got awarded in national festivals in France, being finalist of the prestigious Georges Moustaki award in Paris-Sorbonne or winning the interpretation prize of Pic d’Or in Tarbes. The next day he takes the breath away of the travellers in the Parisian subway… he just likes to play and make all of us wonder about the beauty of the words dancing on his sound. Cyprès performs either solo with guitar and mouth harmonica, like he will during the concerts in The Netherlands, or accompanied by his band of excellent musicians during the most of the concerts in France. This year he has been already warmly welcomed by the Dutch audience during the opening concert of Fête de la Musique in June and Cyprès is looking forward to meet the OT301 audience!
